Managing Partner of Pencarrow Private Equity
Nigel is Managing Partner of Pencarrow Private Equity, New Zealand’s longest established private equity firm. Nigel currently represents Pencarrow on the boards of portfolio companies MMC, Netlogix and Seequent, and has previously served on the boards of BrewGroup, Rishworth Aviation, NZ Crane Group, Phil & Teds and BJ Ball.
Nigel is part of an investment team of six that is currently investing Pencarrow’s most recent fund, Pencarrow V, raised in March 2018 with $250 million committed capital, targeting small to mid-market buyouts and succession and expansion capital opportunities in the New Zealand market.
Nigel has over 30 years’ experience in private equity and investment banking in New Zealand and is a council member of the New Zealand Private Equity & Venture Capital Association. Prior to joining Pencarrow in 2005, Nigel was a partner with investment bank, Cameron Partners, and prior to that was an executive at investment bank, Fay Richwhite.
Head of Issuer Relationships at NZX Limited
Joanna joined NZX in September 2017. Joanna is responsible for developing commercial relationships with existing and prospective equity, debt and fund clients, creating increased awareness of NZX’s products and services, and supporting the broader growth of New Zealand’s capital markets.
Joanna has extensive banking and corporate finance experience, previously working at ANZ in the Institutional Banking Division, with responsibilities in New Zealand and overseas. In her roles as Head of Client Insights & Solutions and Head of Business Management, she gained extensive experience in the areas of strategy, building strong client relationships, business process and performance, and transactional experience. Prior to ANZ, Joanna worked for Deutsche Bank Australia, with experience advising on buy and sell side mandates, capital raisings and project infrastructure transactions cross a wide range of sectors, and worked for nine years in London at Deutsche Bank, Bankers Trust and Lazard Brothers & Co in their M&A division markets divisions.
Operating Manager of Snowberry New Zealand Ltd
Mark is an experienced businessman and has been integral to the development of Snowberry over the past 10 years. Prior to Snowberry, Mark founded and subsequently sold two successful businesses - Fleximak and Seal Jet.
Seal Jet (a New Zealand based company) has manufactured and distributed custom-made industrial polymer and elastomer products for industry since 1993. When sold in 2006, Seal Jet employed thirteen technical and sales staff and generated revenue of approximately NZ$2 million per annum.
ENZED Fleximak (a UAE based company) specialised in supplying fluid transfer products to the oil, gas, marine and construction industries throughout the Middle East from 1985. ENZED Fleximak employed more than 90 technical staff and generated revenue of approximately US$45 million per annum. Mark sold ENZED Fleximak to the US Gates Corporation in 2006.
Mark oversaw the sale of Snowberry to the P&G Company in January this year. He remains as Operating Manager with responsibilities including finance, operations, production and bio-discovery management.
Kerri is a Principal in Lowndes’ Corporate and Commercial team who was named ‘Next Generation Lawyer’ by Legal 500 Asia Pacific and identified by Chambers as an ‘Associate to Watch’. Kerri has extensive corporate and commercial law experience, gained in New Zealand and overseas.
With extensive experience in mergers, acquisitions and disposals, Kerri’s practice is focused on transactional M&A and business establishment, restructuring and joint venture advisory work. Working with clients across a range of industries, from start-ups to leading corporates, private and listed companies, private equity funds, financial institutions and professional services firms, she regularly advises on commercial contracts, telecommunications and technology law, constitutional issues, regulatory compliance and consumer law, and has experience in non-contentious employment matters.
